SUMMARY:CLE: Felonies 101 - A Primer in Representing Those Charged with Felonies
DESCRIPTION:Join Abby Broyles and Dave Smethers from the Ada County Office as they provide a Birdseye view of what you need to know when you are new to felony level representation or just want a refresher course. Abby and Dave will discuss the surface level things that you need to know about preliminary hearings\, procedural processes in District Court\, and sentencings\, as well as various pretrial and post-judgment motions. They hope to impart some wisdom that will be helpful for your first years of felony practice\, and be able to tell your clients\, “No\, a Rule 35 does not automatically cut your sentence in half.” \n\n\n\nAs noted\, this course is intended for those who are embarking on their first felony case\, or others who are looking for a refresher on the foundations of felony representation. \n\n\n\nJoin us virtually on October 23rd from 12:30-1:30 p.m. MT / 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PT.
