This session focuses on the use of Poor Prognosis Indicators (PPIs) and Early Reunification Indicators (ERIs) as evidence-informed tools to strengthen permanency decision-making in child welfare cases. Participants will review national research on factors associated with reunification and termination outcomes\, examine how Idaho analyzed and validated these indicators using state-specific data\, and explore how the Department is formalizing their use as a consistent\, statewide practice. \n\n\n\nThe training emphasizes how PPIs and ERIs—across child-related\, family-related\, and case-related factors—can be identified early\, reassessed over time\, and applied thoughtfully to inform permanency planning\, court recommendations\, and resource allocation.
